What are the dates at which infants can enter nursery school?

Infants between the ages of 2.5 and 3 years can start nursery school at the following dates of entry:

  • the first school day after the summer holidays;
  • the first school day after the autumn mid-term break;
  • the first school day after the Christmas holidays;
  • the first school day of February;
  • the first school day after the spring mid-term break;
  • the first school day after the Easter holidays;
  • the first school day after Ascension Day;

This means that an infant may attend nursery school as of the first date of entry after the infant turned two years and six months of age. Prior to the date of entry infants between the ages of 2 years and six months and 3 are not allowed to attend school.

Infants, who turn two years and six months on a date of entry, can be admitted to nursery school on that very day.
